A day to catch up.
A great deal of things don't get done when I don't feel well - such a hindrance to calmly sitting still & sipping green tea - I have deadlines, catching up, and filling in the blanks! In the midst of pulling things together, I did have a few moments to use my last "cup sketch" to create something fresh and new in my art journal. With a few things already on the counter that seemed to speak to me -- some book paper, a paper bloom, and a used up lunch sack, I just added paint. Isn't that what you would do with those things too? (lol!)
It feels just right, it is right now...and it is me.
Every time I have a week like this, I come back to the importance of simplicity in my home (family), business, and schedules. It would be so much easier to get help, do the work, feel inspired if I was more organized. Do you go through this struggle to simplify too?
Perhaps it is just time for a bit of Spring cleaning~
It is also time to be thinking about the sheep. I can hardly stand the wait, they are coming home at the end of the month and I am giddy. Do you have spring loves you are anticipating as well?
Do you want to meet my spring sheep? I know you do!
(I have been so obsessed with the sweet things, I added new sheep art to my *originals* listing above -- all needing names & new homes -- take a peek? Here.)
What are you experiencing this week that you can paint, glue, write, capture?
(Look on your counter top for inspiration, it is all there!)
I hope you will share~
love & lambs & loads of wet paint,
jj
I can't wait to see pictures of the sheep too. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI like to simplify too... a sort of cleansing of the soul. Looking forward to Spring and little ones in the barnyard. I'm working on a special 'card' (?) to send a friend, acquaintence really, who is battling cancer AGAIN! Perhaps I'll include a Scripture verse. Your canvas sheepies are adorable as ever! I work primarily w/wool, but you've inspired me to blow the dust off my water colors!
ReplyDeletelove the journal spread, yummy colour. Looking forward to the sheep photo shoot :-)
ReplyDeleteSimplicity, I think it's a craving in our souls, magnified by the complexities of life.

just LOVE.
ReplyDeleteMmmm...more painty, collaged, art journal goodness!
ReplyDeleteWhat am I experiencing this week that I can paint, glue, write, capture? This is easy! ;) I'm completely inspired by the trip my son & I just enjoyed in Southern California (arrived home yesterday afternoon); especially, the 2 days we spent playing in the tidepools. My son took many pictures; not only to capture our adventure but, also, so I would have visual reference for sketching & creating. So far, I've written about our days & pen sketched: palm trees (+ visualized how to add dimensional texture to their trunks), a sailboat, & a starfish (a rough go on that one so far). Plus, more ideas on my list to play w/.
Thank you so much, Junelle, for inspiring me to sketch & art journal my surroundings. My eyes & heart were *open* & *aware* to all the wonder & magical awe of our trip. I allowed myself to just follow my son's lead & 'see' our adventure through his nearly 14 yr. old eyes...absolutely, breathtaking! And, I love 'seeing' life through your blog & art!
Many gorgeous blessings! ~H♥~
Junelle, I am just loving your crazy (in the best sense of the word) creative journal creations. And how fab is your use of pins... so love it!! Oh and I cannot wait to see what innocent lens magic will appear when you get to meet the sheep again.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you sweet sister
I really enjoy your artwork. It looks so spontaneous.
